My Job is going to kill my Diet

I do so well at staying on track on my days off. I make it easy on myself becuase I simply wont buy the junk But I work at Wendys and when you are there for 7-10 hour shifts and start getting hungry it seems like a losing battle to not eat the greasy fried Junk. I dont get a “lunch break” or even sit down to eat I eat in between customers a bite here a bite there so that makes it even harder, becuase in 2 minutes I can eat a few greasy fries or deep fried chicken nuggets but I dont have time for there healthier options Like a salad or baked potato, by the time I would prepare them I wouldnt even have time to take a bite before I had to step away and Because of cross contamination food may not be left out at all if I must walk away to take orders or something then the food must be put away (which I dont have time to do so it goes in the trash) I have yet to find an easy healthier option that will work for my at work eating. any suggestions  would be greatly appreciated

I know that has to be extremely difficult around all those burgers and fries. How about sticking some of those meal replacement bars or a couple of pieces of fruit in your purse.

humm… well, when i was working at a burger place i would sometimes just take a stack of sliced tomatoes and add a little salt and pepper to them and eat that. but.. don’t know if that’ll be enough for 8 hours. also i’d sometimes bring sliced apples and pb- its a little more filling. but- why aren’t you getting a break?! isn’t it required by law?

I totally understand what you are going through. I manage a Buffalo Wings restaurant and I am there up to 17 hours a day. Recently to help me out I have been drinking the drinks called Fuze Slender at work. They seem to help me fight the snacking. I will not say it is hard at times, but it sure seems to help. Since I do not have time to pack a lunch, I stop at Mc Donals and grad a grilled snack wrap and I take a can of progressive soup with me to heat and eat. The good thing about both our jobs is they do have salads. But I also have a bag of skim milk cheese sticks at work so that I can grab on of those instead of a wing, or fries. When you work long hours in the food business it is totally rough to stay on track.

Thanks so much for your advice. The break thing doesnt bother me so much Wendys is the only job I’ve ever had and I switched to longer 8-10 hour shifts (more hours and more days off) knowing that Breaks simply arent given and I dont mind it becuase I love my job and all the people I work with. I just get aggravated when my diet suffers becuase of it I’ve brought protien bars and different shakes smoothies before I just hate throwing away even the tiniest bit of something I paid for.I think I will try to look for cheaper alternatives. Thank you so much!! Have a great weekend!!!

The break thing may not bother you but it is required by law. You HAVE the right to sit down and eat. You need to take care of yourself and that includes breaks sweetie.
